I have tried to find the answers so forgive me if this topic has been discussed before.

I do a lot of conference calling and I hope someone can provide me a solution.

I had an ATT Curve that while I was on a call and a new incoming call came in that when I pressed the send button the screen would show a hold on the original call and right underneath it would be the new incoming call. I could press the send button and it would show on the screen which call/line i was currently using.

Also, at any time I could press the menu button and JOIN the 2 calls together.

I have recently switched to sprint and have a new curve. The features that I described above do not work that way. I can still receive a new incoming call and switch back and forth BUT it does not conveniently show on the screen the both calls nor will it allow me to JOIN them.

I called tech support and they told me that I needed to talk to RIM. They also told me that the only way to have a conference call was if I initiated both calls. I often times receive 2 calls that I need to join them together. I do not want to inconvenience my clients and tell them that I have to call them back.

I discovered that I am using OS 4.3 and there was an upgrade to 4.5. Will 4.5 give me the tools/features that I enjoined with my previous wireless carrier?

The conference call and joining may be correct. I haven't found a way to do that and I've been supporting Sprint BB's for a couple years. Here is a tip that I sent out to my Sprint 8830/8130/8330 users:

Initiate a Conference Call
You cannot add more than 2 contacts to a conference call.
1. Dial the 1st person for the call to get them on the line.
2. During the call, press the Menu key.
3. Click Conference Call.
4. Type a phone number or highlight a contact from your Address Book.
5. Press the Send key to imitate the call with the 2nd person (this will put the 1st person on a silent hold).
6. After you get the 2nd person on the line, you can do a couple of things:

• Press the Send key to join all callers together into 1 call (a conference call).

• Press the Menu key and press Flash to swap between the 2 calls.

Receiving a 2nd (incoming) call while already on a phone call
If you are already on a phone call and you receive a 2nd call, you can do the following with the 2nd call:

1. Press the End key to send the 2nd call to voicemail, or,
2. Press the Send key to answer the 2nd call (puts the first person on a silent hold). If you do this, you can then:

• Finish the conversation with the 2nd call, and when done press the Menu key and press Flash to switch back to the original call. NOTE: The 2nd caller's phone number may still display on your screen.

• Press the Send key to switch between the calls.

No way to join that I can find.....yet.

I can work with this, I was just wondering is upgrading from 4.3 to 4.5 would give me those features of joining option.

I successfully upgraded my OS but still the same as far as receiving calls and not being able to join them



I am thinking of going back to ATT or Verizon - any suggestions?

If being able to join calls is that much of a necessity, then switching carriers might be the best option for you.

I barely use my phone for a single call, let alone multiple calls at once
