Well I just picked up a slightly used 8310 for a pretty good deal, and had a few questions.

1. I have service with t-mobile and the phone is locked to at&t. what is the best solution for this? I found this website. bbrepairshop.com sorry can't post the specific link to their unlocking service.

2. Does this phone have wifi?

3. I'm not sure what os is on this phone, but what does everyone recommend? And how is the new os different from the one I currently have?

Thanks, and look forward to becoming a valuable member here.

1. Many people here have had good experiences unlocking with Horizonwireless.com or GSMPhonesource.com

2. No; the 8310 has GPS but no WiFi

3. Go to Options / About to see the OS version.

Yeah...what NJ said!

Plus, here are your phone specs... BlackBerry - BlackBerry Curve 8310 smartphone

It should work on T-Mobile since it is a GSM phone, but Tmo themselves sells the 8320, not the 8310.

I've set up quite a few 8310s on T-Mobile; they work fine.

You might be able to get the phone unlocked through Tmobile. Some conditions apply but I've had all my past phones unlocked through them for free.

Also, since this phone has all of at&t's software what would I need to do to get t-mobile's software on the phone? Or do I even need it?

All of the BlackBerry software is written by RIM, and tested and released by the carriers. There is no "T-Mobile" software. In fact, T-Mobile doesn't even sell the 8310.

Just use the latest version of the 8310 software, found in the sticky thread at the top of this discussion forum.

Good luck!

I don't believe you can get a device unlocked by a carrier which is not branded or sold by them. Since this 8310 is an ATT device, the free unlock, if even available, will need to come from them. Someone please correct me if wrong, but I don't believe you can bring, say a Rogers BB to the US and have ATT unlock it.

To the best of my knowledge, that would be correct. T-Mobile will not unlock and AT&T phone.

You are correct. We have customers come in with TMobile phones from time to time and we have to refer them to TMobile for the unlock code.

Ok I just got my curve unlocked. I was wondering if there was a way to erase everything off the phone and start new. I want to delete the email account the person before me has on there, but it won't let me.

ok im trying to access the internet on my phone and it's saying that my device does not currently have any browser configuration service book entries.

Please contact your service provider to enable the browser on your device.

I have t-zones on my phone, but not sure what this means.
