Default gmail filter + 8330 help...

Please Login to Remove!

So I set up a filter on gmail so certain emails do not come into my inbox. Is there anyway of stopping those emails from being sent to my BB?

Wirelessly posted (8130 Pearl (Sprint))

Add a filter... Set to DO NOT FORWARD TO DEVICE. Then put YOUR GMAIL ADDRESS in the FROM option

There are two ways that I'm aware of.

First: if you have just one or two filters in Gmail and can reproduce the filters is your BIS setup, that's the easiest way to do it.

Since Gmail's filter mechanism is a lot more flexible than the BIS filters, it may not be possible to accurately reproduce the Gmail filters under BIS. If that's the case with your filters, or you just don't want to duplicate the effort, see the second option below.

Second: If you setup your BIS to access your Gmail via IMAP, any filters you have in Gmail that "skip the Inbox" (i.e. archive the messages) will also filter message being pushed to your Blackberry, since with IMAP the "push" only happens with messages in your Inbox.

dankarlinski's suggestion will work if you're trying to stop copies of sent messages from being pushed to your device, but if I read the original post correctly, that's not what you're trying to do.

Fantastic.. Thanks guys.

UncleMike, I just logged into my BIS and added 1 filter. Hopefully that should do the job.
