Default slow email scrolling - 10-08-2008, 11:19 PM

The email scrolling is extremely slow. I press shift space to scroll up, but it takes a really long time for it to scroll up.

With my blackberry pearl, i never had issues like this. In addition, I had to press only one button to scroll up.

Therefore, the processor lacks speed and the software lacks features. I want scrolling through my emails to be faster. The scroll speed makes scrolling through emails hideous on the curve.

You may be low on memory, that will cause the device to run slow. What is your file free? (Options > Status)

Also try to pull the battery out and see if that helps speed it up. Check your file free after the battery pull.

Report both results back here.

I cannot power the unit on when the battery is out.

I am starting it up again, and it is very slow booting up -- much slower than my pearl was I think.

The unit says I have 19,823,416 Bytes free out of 56,098,816 Bytes

I have a 1gb memory card, but apparently, I do not think it is using it.

It's normal for it to be a bit slow booting up. I'm not sure what you mean by this:

Have you put files on the media card, like picures, music, etc?

Go to Options > Media Card and make sure media card support is set to on.

Default scrolling through emails on CURVE, not a problem - 10-14-2008, 01:25 PM

The Curve and emails works fine, there is no problem. I have opened up extremely lengthy emails without issues you are describing.

Have you tried just pressing the SPACE bar, doing this, pages up one screen at at time on anything, whether it be an email or a web page.

My two cents..

I had the same issue along with sending and receiving messages being slow. I found removing the history of the message made them send faster, and when I cleared the messages folders and it began to fill up again, everything was back to normal speed - including scrolling.
Maybe just try cleaning out your messages more often.
