How in the blazes do you change the calendar reminder?

I have navigated to the calendar, found the date and event that I wanted to select a reminder for, selected the menu key, scrolled down to the options key, and under the Calendar Options screen, set the Default Reminder time six hours ahead.

Still, the reminder chime/vibrate only gives me a 15 minute reminder. Obviously that is not a long enough reminder if you are a couple of hours away from the event you wish to be reminded of.

Idealy, I would like the reminder to be given to me at the beginning of the day, so that I will not overlook the event in my scheduling, but I cannot figure out how to increase this 15 minute setting.

I am using a BB Curve 8310. Please help.

Move the 15 minutes to 6 hours, 12 hours, whatever you desire.

Thanks for your response, but just how do you do that? I have set the default reminder time to 6 hours in the location as indicated in the previous post. That is the only place where I have found any setting.

The only thing that I have not done is power off my BB, then back on. I will try that and see if the new setting is accepted.

When you create OR edit a calendar item, scroll down in the screen to REMINDER. Click on the hours there for many more choices. Does that help?

When I powered the phone off then back on (I should have known that was necessary) the reminder changed from the former 15 min default to the new setting.
