| Reception Problems: Chicago Please Login to Remove! Ok I will attempt to be as specific to my condition as I can.
I recently purchased a Blackberry 8330 curve on sprint service. I live in the northern suburbs of Chicago, specifically in Evanston. For the first week I've had the phone, everything was working great. I was able to make and receive calls from inside my apartment. I could send and receive text messages and emails.
However, as of Saturday, (10/18), my phone has been acting screwy. Where I was once able to make and receive calls, I am no longer able. My status says that my signal strength is -95 dBm, which is average for inside. When I go to make a call, I either receive the message that the call failed or there is not adequate signal. Upon hanging up, the status bars drop to 0 and then returns to normal.
As of today, (10/19), I have been able to send and receive texts and email, but still no calling. When I call into the phone, it rings on the dialing phone, but my blackberry does not respond. The one time it did, the call was promptly lost before a connection could be established.
I thought that this may have just been a signal problem, but it seems that the phone can not make or receive calls in anything less than perfect reception. It has only been since Saturday that this has occurred. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced similar difficulties and what they did to resolve it. |
