Thanks... I guess I'll give it a try and see if I notice any changes...

Max is correct, RIM does not offer release notes.

Mine hung at loading module SlideshowToGo. It's been there for about 15 mins now anyway. Not really sure what to do about it.

Sincerely, other than the higher numbers of this version of OS 4.5, is there any improvement or difference from the most recent OS 4.5 versions (for example, from TM US)?

thanks

Well I just upgraded and my memory jumped up to 25(I deleted the AT&T theme and the PTT app). Now I just hope they fixed the memory leaks in this one.

rtbrjason, try starting over. I know it sounds dumb, but it just might work. Sometimes it's touchy.

CSO, I haven't noticed anything so far. And no one has posted any big differences. The exception being that people are liking the small release of memory. Some of us do it JUST to stay at the head of the pack. For most users, I would danger to say, a lot of these updates are unnecessary. I imagine that your/their carriers put out the updates they see as being beneficial.

No, it is not. Any RIM OS that is noted as "Multilanguage" usually contains English and various European languages.

You will want an OS that name contains the letters "CJK" after the model name, such as "8310CJK....xxx"

Thanks a lot for saving me 2 hours of installing the new os and reverting back to the previous one!

Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that when you want to delete an email it won't ask you if you want to delete it "from mailbox", or "handheld"? Now I just get the choice to simply delete.

Neutral Sigma. I hate to ask this because you say you followed the directions, but did you run the downloaded program before opening the Desktop Manager? And is your Desktop Manager over the 4.2 version?

Yes, I ran the d/l program 1st, then plugged in the BB, then opened the Dm. I am running v 4.6 of DM.

Neutral, assuming you followed the directions to a tee, I'm stumped. I'd say wait for JSanders to respond. You can try manually starting the process. With the BB connected, and the DM running, go to Application Loader, and try Update Applications. If that doesn't set it of you could try Add/Remove applications and browse to the OS directory, and run...this is where you might have to experiment (and I take no responsibility for this) with running one of the .alx files. One of them might work. But after typing this, it looks like you might just want to wait!

Search your computer for other instances of the vendor.xml file. Make sure you go into "Advanced" and be sure you're searching hidden files and folders.

Any new upgrade thread we have the same 1,000 questions about deleting the vendor file, does this have English, can I put this on my 7280? etc. And I'm not complaining about the questions either, it's nice to have users interested and that is what the forum is for.

And I didn't write the instructions.. mostly old man John Clark responsible for that.
Will this work on my 8310? And do I need to remove the vendor file? Also, will this work in English? I do not know any other language... well I know some Greek, but really rather my phone be in English. Thanks!

OH BTW do you have any step by step instructions on how to do this? I have search the forum intensively but can not find them. Thanks!

My understanding is that ATT will just repush it at some point, so pretty much best bet is to just hide the icon.

You're confused. The themes and PTT app are not pushed. They are part of the OS and can be removed using the method in the link in my sig. You're thinking of the shortcut icons on your home screen for music stores, etc. Those are pushed and can't be deleted.

I know this will sound stupid but you all should be used to that

If I have 102 that's newer right? Just not an official version?

102 had not yet been released by any carriers for the 8310. If you find it, hook it up anyway. It's a good build.

I noticed this on one of my email accounts, so I checked the options and for some reason ONLY that one account had its delete setting changed. So in your email app, go to menu button->options->general options then scroll down to "confirm delete" and set that back to "Prompt"

I noticed the last 2 OS upgrades I did a couple odd settings like that got changed, so you might want to poke around to see what else got changed on your phone...

Alright guys! Your hilarious. Pick on the guy who's up late, and maybe just maybe had a beer too many. I see how it is though. I'm just gonna start being mean to everybody! BuzzBuzz, I fired up that beta too, without a hitch. All I've noticed is a slight bit more memory. But I won't start a beta thing here. Anyway...good morning jerks!
