I've had my 8310 for a little over a month now and just installed this last night. Everything seems better, but I have run across one problem; Tell Me no longer recognizes voice. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but that hasn't worked. Any ideas?

[quote=VydorScope;1171901]I noticed this on one of my email accounts, so I checked the options and for some reason ONLY that one account had its delete setting changed. So in your email app, go to menu button->options->general options then scroll down to "confirm delete" and set that back to "Prompt"

I noticed the last 2 OS upgrades I did a couple odd settings like that got changed, so you might want to poke around to see what else got changed on your phone...[/QUOTE

Yeah that did the trick...I forgot when you update it sets back everything to default...I think?

Well the odd thing is it does not. I have multiple emails accounts and only one was reset. I have not found any other setting touched, but on my wife's phone the data setting was reset. Last OS update, .85 I think it was none of my email was reset, but something else was changed, I forget what it was now. So it appears somewhat random.

Upgraded to this release but Menu -> Options -> "About" it's not working. The other menus are working (by far).

I did remove the battery, but it still do nothing.

When you remove Voice Dialing the About screen doesn't work. It's documented in my post about removing it.

use alt + right shift + H

Thanks JC, but I didn't remove VD, it is working.

Your "post about removing it" it's in this thread? (I'll search, not that lazy)

**** Edited ****
This is new:

Uncaught exception:
Application net_rim_bb_phone_app(43) is not responding; process terminated

Looks like I'm going back...

Thanks

Ok trying not to sound stupid or anything.......

I am running the os update to my computer so I can load it to my BB. It is taking forever! Is this normal? Its telling me I still have 2hr 44 in left. Could that be right?

P.S. I have windows vista and a dsl connection.

Please excuse any dumb questions I'm learning to be BB literate! LOL

If your talking about the downloading from rim? rims upload is slow...that is one of the biggest complaints!
the line I am on the download speed is 1838 KB/sec..but rims pipes are to small for my potential line speed..

I downloaded and installed this morning. No probs here. I deleted the ptt and the extra themes not needed. everything seems good so far. with the last os upgrade I was locking up about once a day. I can also now send pics that I take off my BB. I couldn't so that for some reason on my last OS.

Just a note for others with the same problem on the pics, I loaded the new OS WITHOUT my memory stick in my BB. Then took the pics and loaded onto my puter and reformatted the memory stick. Now it all works good.

Your options are:

1) Find a PC running Windows and use it.
2) Use Boot Camp, VMWare Fusion, or other means of running windows on your Mac
3) Wait for the promised future Desktop Manager for Mac, that has no expected release date yet.

:(

I opt'd #1 since I have a old Dell Laptop.

Default Camera and video lock unit up - 11-19-2008, 01:42 PM

Since I upgraded, if I try to use my camera or video, the unit freezes and I have to reset it. I cannot take any video or any pictures. The image is blank and the whole thing becomes unresponsive.

Anyone else see this or know how to fix it?

Just do the update.

Most likely you won't even need to resend them. However, if you do, go to Options >Advanced Options >Host Routing Table. Hit the menu key and select "Register Now." After that just use the "Manage Internet Email" icon on the home screen to log into your BIS setup and resend service books. You can also do this on the main BIS site on your PC. Or you can just call ATT and have them resend your service books.

Did the update and everything is working fine. There are definitely a few changes from 4.2.xxx but I like it. Thanks for all the help. My guess is I don;t have to do the service books because I am still receiving texts and e-mails.

Open one of your emails and scroll up into the headers. Make sure the "Received Using" field shows your email address. If it says "Unknown" you'll need to resend your service books.

I upgraded from .81 and overall my BB seems to operate better. Big improvment in memory leaks. Previously I coul literally watch memory drop by the minute. In addition the bluetooth (Jawbone 2) is much clearer.
When I upgraded I did have a Calendar sync issues with my BES Server, but i removed the Desktop [Sync] Service book and all was well again.

You shouldn't need to remove the Sync service book. Did you reactivate on the BES? If so, and then you remove the Sync service book your data will not be sync'd (backed up) on the BES.

After some of these upgrades, I've had to go back into my Calendar and turn Wireless Sync back on.

Same here, any ideas? Sometimes my flash will just stay lit, and I have to do a battery pull. Sometimes it just locks the whole phone up. Any clue?

Okay, I have tried 3 times so far to install I currently have v 4.2.2.170 and I followed the steps including deleting the file when said and what not. It took that many times for it to finally realize I was trying to upgrade. No idea why. Kind of annoying. But atleast it works now Just waiting for it to install all now...I'm excited.

My BB DM (4.7) does not see the software. I removed the vinder file, but It does not see the BB OS software AT ALL. I have her phone currently running v4.5.0.81 (Platform 2.7.0.78) is it even worth the update?

I upgrade from .81 to .99 last night. Everything seems to be working fine, except I can't send texts. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

I did do a battery pull.

I found the problem. Update deleted members of my address groups. Just had to add them and all is well.

I went in the camera options and lowered it from Large (1600 x 1200) to Medium (1024 x 768) and all is well again. Could just have been a memory issue.

Default 8310 upgrade - 11-22-2008, 01:06 AM

I'm a newbie. When I connect my BB 8310 to upgrade, it will give the little "click next to start" and then it says "fatal error, try again." Can anyone offer a solution? Thanks!

Oh, its a Suncom Curve unlocked on T-Mobile.

m.youtube.com?

I would recommend a battery pull reboot, try again. This OS worked fine for me with YouTube.
