Im kinda new to the blackberry community and still learning about my blackberry 8330.

My operating system 4.3.0.127
My Desktop Manager is 4.7.0.32

Does my Desktop Software version need to mach with my OS on my blackberry. I really like the Desktop Manager Im using now as it runs much easier and faster when connected to my 8330.

The problem I am having is that the uploader is not recognizing the themes. It only will recognize the .alx and .cod extensions and not the .jad extensions.

Do I need to use the 4.3 Desktop Manager? cause if i go back to that version it seems to freeze up all the time.

.jad files are for Over-The-Air installs. You cannot use the DM to install these. You must point the BB browser at the location of these files.

The themes need to be compatible with device and device OS
The desktop manager does not have to be the same version number.

If its a jad file, you download directly from device. Do NOT use desktop manager
