Default .avi movies are really slow on my BB 8310. What formats play smoother?

When I play .avi movies they are slow and the sound is faster then the video. What are some supported video formats that play better. I'm guessing I need some lower quality movies so how can I reduce the quality of a movie?

Hi,
are you familiar with the optimal video settings for the curve?
I had the same issues until I transcoded the videos.

Use Blackberry Video Converting to change them to the appropriate avi format for your device. I converted the fob files from a movie I ripped to my computer then transfered them to my phone and they view wonderfully.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

WMV may be a more compresses format for you which will lead to more efficient playing, downloading and spacw in general

I use 'Any Video Converter'

profile - avi
vid codec - mpeg4
vid size - 320x240 or 240x180
vid bitrate - 400kbps
vid framerate - 24fps
audio codec - mp3
audio bitrate - 128kpbs
sample rate - 44khz
audio channels - 2

works great for me

I like 3GP, I have a 2 hour movie and it's only 110 MB. And it looks very good.
