accidently pressed reconcile now for SMS. how do i undo?

please helpppp. i have the blackberry curve 8320. i accidentely pressed reconcile now for your SMS messaging and i don't know how to undo it. it's really bothering me and i've tried to figure out how to undo but i couldn't. it automaticlly deletes your sent text messages right after It's not for email, it's for your outbox SMS messages. :-x:cry:

What do you mean??? Reconcile doesn't hurt anything. Is there something wrong with the device?

cvpcheer 11-28-2008 02:21 PM

i don't think so. when i clciked reconcile, it deletes all my sent messages as soon as i finish sending them. like it automaticlly deletes my sent text messages as soon as i finish sending them. it's making me really mad.

jsconyers 11-28-2008 02:25 PM

It sounds like you have hide sent messages set to Yes. Go into your inbox, press the menu key, select options > general options. What is hide sent messages set to?

cvpcheer 11-28-2008 02:32 PM

no, i checked that. it's set to no. it's because i pressed reconcile now is why my sent messages are automaticlly deleted. i even checked my outbox and sent box for SMS. it says no messages.

jsconyers 11-28-2008 02:34 PM

Reconcile now would NOT do that. That is used for BES to reconcile the messages from the mailbox to the handheld.

What is your free memory on your device (Options > Status)?

cvpcheer 11-28-2008 02:45 PM

how do i get there? options from where, messages? cause when i go to messages>options it says general settings, email settings, and email reconciliation

lol, i'm a newbie at the blackberry i just got it last week.

Not in messages. From the home screen, go to your options icon.

Put all of your media onto a media card (videos, music, pictures) and pull then pull the battery out of the phone while its on to refresh its memory. I hafto do this about once every other day because I use my phone ALL the time. If this doesn't solve your problem, then follow the guide written by John Clark to fix your memory issues even further.

jsconyers 11-28-2008 04:54 PM

Yeah, that seems to be your culprit. You are low on memory. Try a battery pull and look at your memory again. You should see a dramatic increase.

When your device gets low on memory, it starts to delete messages, SMS, call logs to try to free up memory.

Try following these steps:

How do I free up memory on my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

Why is my BlackBerry losing its call logs or message logs? - BlackBerryFAQ
