Hi All,

I get this annoying voice notification all of the sudden telling me every time I drift in and out of cell coverage. This happens all day long in my building, and it really is getting on my nerves!!

Is there a way to turn this off?

I was under the impression that the only time the voice for that would come on was when you would go into voice dialing and say "check coverage".

What kind of BB do you have? You show a 7130/Cingular listed.

Sorry, I guess I'll have to update my profile. I have an 8310 Curve. This did start about the time I was setting up my Bluetooth headset and trying out voice dialing for the first time. I've looked for settings there, but cannot find anything. It didn't do this before.

Look on your GPS, do you have ATT Navigator open and running oin the background?

Thanks for the feedback. I did recently sign up for the free trial of Navigator, and also installed the latest version of Google Maps,both of which use the GPS on the 8310. However it does not appear that either are "open", which is to say that I go directly to the option screen rather than to a route when I enter the apps. Does that answer the question? It could be that this issue also coincides with setting up the GPS, but I am not sure,and if this is not happening to everyone else...

The only application I know of that will notify me by VOICE that I have left or entered a cell coverage area is TeleNav and ATT Navigator. In your case, you must have left the application running in the background.

There is no setting in the BlackBerry operating system for that voice notification.

So there's your answer.

Thanks, based on your prior feedback I went in and turned off voice prompts for all except turns on the Navigator. We'll see if that helps.

Same thing happened to me, and Im a teacher so it was super annoying when it would happen in class.

It started happening after I started my 30day trial of the nav program from ATT.
