Default A few questions about the Curve

Please Login to Remove!

Hey, Im switching over to att soon, and am looking at the curve and the samsung eternity. I like the curve more but im a little hesitant due to its lack of 3g and that its already over a year old. I dont want to buy it only to have a new model replace it in a month.

I have 2 questions

Is there a new version that might be out soon?

Is it a good purchase at $79, since its a year old?

Any help is appreciated, my contract with sprint just ended and im switch over with my parents who have att. The bold is a little to pricey at $299.

There is the 8900 that is supposed to be released soon.
$79 is not a bad price for the device.

Wirelessly posted (Verizon 8830)

Old version is still a good device but I may suggest you wait for the 8900 depending on its arrival.

Go Noles this week and Roll Tide next week.

Whats the possibility of the 8900 being released in dec, from what ive read they have speculated early next year in feb. My contract ended today and im looking to move fairly soon.

And when the 8900 comes out will they update the OS of the 8310 to match, or would it be possible to put it on the 8310? cause from the screen shots it looks much diff.

Also if anyone is familiar with the att phones, what would you recommend i get? Stick with the 8310 or get something else?

What is the price looking to be, I dont want to spend over 200 on a phone?

Nothing fancy about the 8900?
3.2mp camera, 512mhz processor, 480x360 screen resolution and 256MB of application memory I guess don't matter much to you.

The current curve is a nice device. You are going to be the only one that knows which device is the best for you. As for when the Javelin will be released, there are rumors floating around, I have not heard anything concrete. If you're looking to switch soon, it looks like your options are pretty much limited to the 8820, 8110, 8310, and Bold.

Unless you are interested in unlocking a non AT&T branded device to use on their network. That will open up your options a bit.

compared to the curve, it really isnt that much of a difference.........so its the curve on steroids, cool, but not enough to make me go out and get one as soon as it comes out. will i get one, maybe, not sure. but i will wait.

Thanks a lot for the help.

Just one more question. I see that the 8900 has a newer OS will it be available for the 8310?

I just dont want to buy the phone for it to be outdated in a couple months. I see that apps can be added to the phone and i dont want my options to be limited to what is already out, and have apps that no one updates because its outdated.
