Default Need urgent Help

Please Login to Remove!

My new Curve 8320 is acting strange on me.

I would receive calls, and then It would stop receiving any calls at all. On calling my cell with another number, I get the following error:

'We are sorry. No one answered the call. Please try again later."

The curve is on the GPRS connection with UMA Disabled. This is a T-Mobile Phone, the 8320. The problem started arising since yesterday night.

Then out of no where, it would work for a while, and when I wont receive any calls, i will try calling from my home line, and would get the same error.

I just a few days ago upgraded to the 4.5 OS on the Tmo website.

Tmobile Customer Service says that this is the first time they have heard of this error and have no idea what is going on.

I have done everything, from restarting to soft and hard reset including removing and inserting the SIM card again.

I leave the country on Late Sunday for my wedding, and wont be coming back to the US till late JAN and am worried that, now the unlocked CURVE would be a non-working unit in India, as in India, there is no VM system.

Any ideas or anyone facing similar issues?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

P.S. Forgot to mention, I am in Little Rock, AR. They checked if there were issues with the network in the area, but seems like alls well, and per them, it sounds like the phone is not forwarding calls correctly.

Thanks again.

Since you have mentioned that your curve is unlocked, did you try using someone else's SIM card (preferably of a different provider) in your curve?

Also I assume that voice mail is deactivated with your number since you got the message "We are sorry. No one answered the call. Please try again later". Had VM been active, it would have gone to your voice messaging system. Here's what I would have done if I were you..

Step 1 - In order to wipe the doubt that nothing is wrong with the SIM card I would have got myself a duplicate SIM card from a T-Mobile store in town. I would observe the behavioral pattern of the new SIM in the curve for 1 or 2 days. OR if you can manage to get another cell phone try using your original SIM card in it.

Step 2 - Setup your voice mail and activate appropriate settings in your berry to redirect calls to your VM if you either miss a call or disconnect the call. The moot point is if you do not pick the call, the calling person should be redirected to your VM. Get that checked from T-Mobile rep.

Step 3 - Revert back to the previous version of OS which was loaded on the berry. I have seen people complaining about OS 4.5.0.81 from released by T-Mobile but that is sporadic. I have myself used East Asia version of OS 4.5.0.81 (not T-Mobile) with no such issues.

Try these and let us know how it goes...

Thanks Raja for the reply.

I have been given the same option. The SIM i am using was used with my Pearl 8100 before, but would get the error '"SIM CARD ERROR" too often on the phone, it may have been because of the 4.5 OS, which was not officially released by Tmobile. In either case, I switched to the Curve.

The strange thing is that when I call from my home and business phone, i get the above mentioned error message. it does not even ring. It says that message and then disconnects. however, the phone is set with all the right settings. I would call tmo blackberry support and ask them to call, and strangely they get through. Not sure what is happening.

I live in Little Rock, AR. The closest TMO store is in Dallas, which is around 300+ miles from here. In short, there is no tmobile store within 300 mile radius. And I leave for Dubai on Sunday morning, flying out of LIT to ATL to JFK. I was hoping for a tmobile store at the airport, but no luck there...lol.

Tmobile says it might be the SIM, so I will have to wait till I come back in late JAN, and as I go to Cincinnati, OH, I would be able to get a substitute sim.

Another step i followed, which I thought took care of it, but just found out it didn't:

I wiped the device completely. Had all my email accounts deleted. Had them re-assigned. Called tmobile and had the Service Books resent.

Thought that took care of it, but it didnt. So now all I am going to do is wait till I come back.

Thanks for your response.
