Default address book phone number entries

Love the blackberry...

Am wondering if anyone knows/has an answer:

In the address book function there are a few different fields which can be populated with numbers. on my device these are WORK,WORK2, HOME, HOME2, MOBILE, PAGER, FAX, OTHER. Very convenient when there are just these numbers, or just these places.....some people have summer homes, others have winter homes and yet others have simply more than 2 home numbers, others have more than one mobile #'s.

SO....it would be nice to be able to note, next to the actual numbers......what this/that number corresponds to.....YET when dialing from the addres book an entry that looks like: {212 555 1212 (maine)}, the machine dials "(maine)" as if it is part of the number. So the question I have for which I would appreciate any help is this:

IS THERE ANY WAY TO ADD TEXT TO A NUMBER FIELD IN THE ADDRESS BOOK, WHILE PREVENTING THE DEVICE FROM CONVERTING THE TEXT TO NUMBERS TO BE DIALED?

thanks for any help...

No, there is no way to do what you are asking.
The phone number field is used for phone numbers only.

Put the numbers and the information in the Notes section. You will be able to dial these numbers from the Address Book. And the word won't dial.
