Default n00b in need of help

Please Login to Remove!

I just got the 8310 a few days ago and love it (my first BB) but I am having problems updating my OS to 4.5.0.134 (I have 4.2.2.170). Before I get flamed and sent to the sticky, FAQ or search option let me explain what I have been trying.
I d/l the 4.7 English DM, installed it, deleted the vendor file and tried to update the OS but I get an error saying no updates available. Uninstalled it then reinstalled it using custom install w/ no auto updates. Deleted the vendor file searched my HD for other vendor files (found none) and still had the same error. I uninstalled it and d/l the 4.7 multilang DM, custom install no auto updates, deleted the file and same error. Tried using an older version of DM (4.3 multilang) same process with same result. Any ideas of what I might be doing wrong??
TIA

-Aaron

EDIT: I also tried the loader.exe file, w/ no luck there.

Welcome to the forums!

DM seems to be having problems finding your OS upgrade on your computer. What is the file path to the OS?

Wirelessly posted

It doesnt sound like you actually downloaded an os. Just the dm. The desktop manager is only that. It manages the transfer of data between your bb and computer. You need to actually download the os too.

You need to d/l the OS also? I must have missed a step then.... I assumed that running the DM it would search the bb for the latest OS and if it was out of date then connect to the net, d/l and install. *palm to forehead*
Thanks
