Switching CDMA devices

Ok my mom just received a new Verizon 8330 Curve today. Shes currently using an 8703e.
My question is.. is it possible for me to be able to switch her phones without having to go into Verizon?

For normal phones yes, but not for a BB. You will need to call them.

Especially if it's an upgrade, they make you jump through hoops to make sure you hook it to the correct number.
