Talking Newbie 8330 Email Question :)

Please Login to Remove!

Hi, okay so I read on here that you can forward your emails to your

BIS addy which is [email address] correct? Is there any way to find out what your actual email is by looking in your blackberry?

Or will have to call my carrier to find this out? My husband and I both have blackberrys he has a storm and I have the curve but I dont want to direct my mail to his bb by mistake.

TIA

Just go to the email setup icon on the phone (or the carrier's BIS website from your computer) and set one up yourself.

I do not recommend using the carrier supplied email address for 3 main reasons.

1. If you use and it gets out in the "open" you are opening yourself up for toms of SPAM. that account is totally unfiltered and I know of no way to filter it.

2. The only way to read email coming to that account is on the device itself. No web mail option. So in case of a network or carrier outage (and it happens often enough to be annoying) you are without email.

3. When and if you change carriers, you cannot take that address with you. It is lost and gone forever to the bit-bucket.
