My company uses VZW BBs (no SIM req'd), and I have a user who has an AT&T BB (SIM installed)... He's asking me how to wipe the SIM card so when he returns the AT&T BB, it doesn't have his info on it. Is the adv. options wipe sufficient enough to clear the SIM of his contacts? I have a SIM card which only benefits me for International use...UGH!

That wipes the data off of the BlackBerry itself and does not touch the SIM card.

Never seen a SIM "wiped". I assume you are trying to wipe off all the contacts from the SIM card.

Go to Address Book > SIM Phone Book > Delete all contacts one by one.

And text messages if the device has been set up to save to the SIM card.

Is the number going to be reused? If not (and the BB is being returned), destroy the SIM and get a new one.

It contains many other information but for a cell phone user the contacts and text messages will be the only thing which would have a read/write privilege. Other information like subscription information is usable only by the network via the cell phone.

If someone is going to use the same number (and billing) they can use the same SIM ard.

Just have the customer delete the data (one at a time) from the card.
