how is the water damage indicator on the battery supposed to be if there is not any water damage? and if there is?

Even if indicator won't go red, any certified technician can check for liquid damage and corrosion.

The battery has red XXXX normally. The indicator will change to all red when liquid damage occurs.

Interesting, according to those photos, there are two indicators. One on the bottom of the battery and one inside the BB itself.

Just checked mine.

- battery indicator shows a solid red line.
- inside BB indicator is all white.

But my BB is functioning perfectly and to my knowledge has never been exposed to moisture.

Wierd....

Humidity/condensation, sweat and other sources of moisture can trigger the indicators. You don't have to immerse the BB in water to set them off.

Both mine are red, but my BB still functions correctly, I'm assuming this is for warranty info

Interesting when I checked the battery on my curve it is pink with red XXX and my flip has a red line through a white field. Neither has been exposed to moisture.

I have seen blackberry devices with both red and they seemed to work ok but the warranty was void.
