Welcome to BB Forums.

A few comments...

You posted this to the 8100 Forum. I moved it to the 8300 forum since you are asking about an 8310.

Why did you make this a poll? It's a simple and VERY frequently asked question.

Asked so frequently that there is a sticky with all of the details on how to upgrade the OS on the 8310:

Good luck!

first download the latest release which will be posted at the top of the forum, usually stickied so it stays a the top. Next make sure you have atleast the 4.2 SP2 version of the blackberry desktop manager. The newest version is 4.7, i am running 4.6 and like it, works fine, then install the OS you downloaded, reboot your PC, once back up remove the vendor.xml located in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader, then open your desktop manager and it should prompt you to update, if not run the App Loader, then choose what you want to install. I would download either CrackMem or Blackberry Master Control Program (google it), these apps will allow you to remove modules you dont need and also remove the vendor.xml without going to the folder, just check or uncheck the box next to what you do or dont want. Once the upgrade started just sit back and let it run, it will reboot your device twice.
