Default PIN messages BlackBerry alerts

Has anyone had luck with getting the custom LED light for PIN messages to work on Blackberry alerts? The other notifiers work fine but for some reason this one does not. I have Version 1.65 running on a 8330 Curve from Verizon (OS 4.5).

Thanks for the help!

Nope...I too am running 1.65 on Curve 4.5. I have had the same issue ever since 4.5 on my Curve and the BBAlerts software does not seem to be undergoing any more development. I don't want all the other features that the "other" programs offer. Just a simple LED alert program. I am imagining this cannot be that difficult of a program to make and would love for someone to redevelop a working program for the 4.5 platform.

I was told that this PIN issue with BBAlerts is a RIM issue. If you look in the logs the PIN comes across as an email and will alert with that color. Someone recently told me in another thread that this is a BBAlerts bug.

At any rate I would love to see a reliable LED alert software for 4.5. I consider this the most important 3rd party app for my BB and have considered dropping back to the 4.2 OS so that this functions properly.

Please let me know if you find a solution or hear of new developments on this.

Try making PIN messages Level 1 alerts. It's under general options in the mail app.

Then adjust Level 1 messages in profiles to alert you as desired.

That is just the basic functions in the BB. The issue here is the BBAlerts software.

The screenshot below shows how the BBA log shows "Email from.." where the blurred out portion is actually my PIN number and not an email...thus flashing a blue LED as opposed to my desired red LED.

The BBA software was never intended to be for 4.5. It seems a ton of people use this app but just deal with it with the bugs and quirks. I just wish someone would keep it up to date with the newer platforms. Still mind-boggling this is not included with the RIM OS.

Yes, I understand it's basic BB functionality...however, there is a bug in BB introduced in 4.2 which prevents PIN messages from signaling properly via an exception profile, unless you raise them to Level 1. I thought maybe that bug may affect the aftermarket software also.

Ahh...What do you mean by exception profile?

An exception profile allows you to use alternate signaling when a message is received from a specific contact. In profiles, create a new profile, change the alerts to whatever you prefer. Then create a new exception that listens for a specific contact, then point that exception to the new profile just created.

Wirelessly posted

My pin messages are set to level 1. I can get the different tone alert, but I wanted the different LED alert. I have heard that the developer is aware of the problem and is not sure if a fix is even possible. I will keep you guys updated if I hear anything new.
