Talking Getting my first BlackBerry!

Please Login to Remove!

Hi there. New to the forum and to the BlackBerry community! I don't know how I was without the convenience that a BB provides, but now I've got a Curve on its way to my house. My HTC Mogul just died after fighting with it and WinMo for years so I'm pleased to welcome a phone that just works. I was big in the WinMo theming and developing community and I hope to learn all that I can to contribute to the BlackBerry community as well.

welcome to forums and the world of Blackberry.

I was also a symbian user until recently, and since I took BB8330, i worry less of not being on my SOHO, I am connected to my mailbox 24x7 which is a great experience to get the mails instantly pushed to my hand held.

I just left the Palm world within the past month myself. Went from a Centro to a Treo 800w, and now the BlackBerry Curve. This is by far the best phone I've ever owned. My only complaint is with the latest OS (4.5.0.122) which has the speakerphone blast upon receipt of calls. Other than that, this thing is stellar, and the battery life is way superior to the 800w.

Welcome,
The 8330 is also my first BB, as well as my first smart phone period. I was a razr user then went to the LG10000 (voyager). I saw that the Voyager wasn't doing what I wanted it to do so I went to BB. I love getting my e-mail on my handset! I have a few apps that have made m y life sooo much easier! I can go on a jobsite and see a problem, take a pic compose an e-mail and send right there on the spot, call my vendor and discuss the problem, making getting my customers needs met alot faster, which translated into more business from them. I want some more IM/Chat apps on here, but I'm afraid if I"m any more connected my fiance will leave me!!!! LOL! Someon asked me about the call quality of my curve, I said, you can make calls on this too?!?!? OMG how cool is that!!! LOL!

Welcome! I have been working with Blackberrys for several years and see it as a necessity now. I get serveral emails a day from my personal account that I need to respond to. I don't need a lot of "stuff" on my device. Occasional internet use, add pictures to my contacts and Weatherbug for the weather. I will use the other utilities a few times just to familiarize myself with whats on the device.
