Default Email attachment temporary use space

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All,

I tried searching for this but I'm not quite sure how to word it. I sometimes get my voicemail as an mp3 attachment through email. When I get the voicemail email, I open the attachment and "download/play" it.

Now, when you do this, where does the BB space this mp3 attachment for temporary play? Also, once I'm done listening to it, I close the media player and delete the email.

What happens in terms of space used by this temp mp3 file? How do I recover it?

This is a really good question. I had a similar question for .doc or .xls attachments until I installed Docs-To-Go. Unless you are running OS4.5 with Docs-To-Go, email attachments are stored with the email in device memory (donno the exact location though). There's no way to store them on the media card and have access to them, unless you are using Docs-To-Go.

But I am still not convinced whether or not the MP3 attachment cache is cleared when the email is deleted. I guess there must be something similar to "Temporary Internet Files" in a BB which needs to be cleared or gets cleared on it's own.
