Question Google sync + a few other questions - 12-21-2008, 06:23 AM

Hi All

Just got my Blackberry curve and im loving it so far! I purchased it mainly so I can use it for my Outdoor business I run and wanted to have the internet and my calendar with me for when I am out of the office. I use Google as my calendar and wanted to know if anyone could help me so I can sync it with my phone?

Might sound simple but how can I send my contacts to another phone?

You will want to get google sync utility, it will sync the calendar and contacts from Gmail to you phone.

Just google, google calenday sync. you find it pretty easily.

Make sure you're on version 0.5.12. The previous version had quite a few problems.

Wirelessly posted

Hawghead - make sure you have "automatic" sync highlighted and also that you are actually "signed in " - both under options. Screwed me up at first. I'm on 0.5.12 google sync version

Gotcha bro, it was on automatic, but I just noticed that it only syncs for the next four weeks...is there a way to make it sync for the whole year??

Hawghead -

To "sync" calendar for longer periods, go to your google sync program and click on options.
under the "sync events for next ... " highlight four weeks. You should get options for 8, 16 and 24 weeks. Maybe the new version will let you do it for a year.

They should call this forum, "Blackberry advice for idiots", I swear....thanks for your help man...I looked there, but never scrolled down to highlight the 4 weeks...that was all I saw...

Well again, I thank you for my blindness...

You can connect to another phone with Bluetooth and send your contacts to the other phone from within the Bluetooth settings page.
