No can do with Thunderbird. Outlook is the most popular app out there. Keep in mind, the BB was (and still is) a business tool and most businesses use Outlook. The only others I can think of (the list shows up in Desktop Manager) is Agenda, Groupwise and Notes.

You can use Google sync to keep contacts and calendar in sync. I use the calendar sync and it works quite well. I get the occasional dupe entry but its no big deal to delete it. Contact sync is pretty new and I don't use it.

You can use Google's gsync app to sync between your gmail contacts and your BB Dubdub said and then you can use the gContactSync extension to sync between gmail and T-bird. That's the closest you'll get right now.

After beating my head against the wall over syncing my BB with Thunderbird for some time, I finally figured a way to do it without paying for a service. ScooterG is on track with using Google's sync application, but the add-on I added through Thunderbird didn't do the trick for me.

I take my address book on Thunderbird and export it to a .csv file. The issue is the fields shown across the top of the EXCEL sheet do not match the address book inside of g-mail. So export an address book from g-mail to a .csv file as well, you can use that one as a reference to see where g-mail's fields are. Then cut and paste the fields on the Thunderbird .csv file so it matches the same fields as on g-mail. Once you are done, go to g-mail and import the Thunderbird .csv file so all of your contacts are in your g-mail account. Once you are done you can use the google sync application to get the contacts to your BB.

For the google sync application, just go to g-mail and search sync, it will get you there.

It may look complicated, it isn't at all if I can do it. Just a few steps to go through, but it's worth it.

That will probably be OK for a one time sync, but if you sync every day or every few days, it will get awfully painful to have to do the conversion each time.

I use ScheduleWorld to sync my Thunderbird calendar & contacts. There is a add-on for Thunderbird and you use the Funabmbol Blackberry client.

Works pretty good.
