Default Changing Display for 8310

How can I change the way the icons are listed on my home screen? I know about themes, I know how to put a picture on the home screen. The problem is that my icons are all splayed over the entire face of the device and I'd like to have them listed at the bottom. I found the preloaded theme where it has that option, but when I load it, it doesn't allow me to choose which icons I want shown and it also doesn't allow me to scroll through them as I had hoped. In addition, when it's in that mode, if I press the menu key, it goes back to the original version with the icons splayed all over the place. Is there anything I can do?

Go check out a site like PimpMyBerry and find a bottom dock theme with customizable icons.

Scroll to an icon you want such as your e-mail inbox.

Click on the "options" menu button and scroll to "move" then click on it.

Move that icon, using the trackball, to the first icon on the first row of icons.

Do that with the four other ones you want displayed all the time.

Those icons on the first row will be the ones displayed when your desktop is visible.

It is my understanding from what you posted that this is what you want to achieve?

Additionally, you can create custom folders to put rarely used icons in to help minimize the clutter of icons on the screen.

So the icons are movable in vendor themes? I haven't used one in nearly a year!

Yes, I want to have one row of icons only. Otherwise it's too cluttered. Thank you, this helps.
