I upgraded my Blackberry Curve 8310 AT&T from v4.2 to v4.5, and I've noticed that .pdf file attachements in emails are very blurry and the feature to enhance the .pdf is no longer a feature, when viewing the attachement in v4.5, not that v4.2 was that much better.

Does anyone know of a .pdf viewer app for the Blackberry 8310 that allows for clear reading when opening the attachement from an email (not downloading it to the phone, but opening it to view only) and one that is free? I use to have BeamBerry (which worked excellent), until they started charging for the app.

I appreciate any suggestions or links.

If you view the attachment on your hand held, select menu, then zoom, adjust zoom factor with track ball, then CLICK the ball again to stop the zoom.... then (WAIT) for it to auto-enhance.

Thanks, I didn't know it would auto-enhance...takes a while for that to happen after you zoom in, but it does look clearer than when you first open the attachement. I upgraded my OS software for this main reason, in hopes that they improved the viewer for .pdf files...I get alot of them in my emails. I loved the way BeamBerry worked, wish they had a free app that was similar. I guess this will just have to do, unless I fork out the money for BeamBerry.

Just opened a few other .pdf attachements, they are clear, but still not sharp and defined, as they should be....for reading purposes on the phone that is.

You can also use PDF To Go for the same.

I'm thrilled w/Repligo.. Unlike Beamberry, this program doesn't load your PDF's to a website to be interpretted and sent back to your berry. I believe they have a free trial.

Thanks Sheldonbk! I've tried Repligo with my older OS, and the only downfall, for me, is that you have to save the .pdf file to your phone, and then open it from that location. Thus, taking up memory on the phone. I might try it again though, since there doesn't seem to be many choices in .pdf viewers, and the asking price of $29 isn't too bad, I suppose. Thanks again.

You could probably get a 2 GB media card like 5 bucks nowadays, to save device memory.

I used BeamReader/Repligo, I do prefer Repligo just due to the size of the program alone, BeamReader is almost 1 MB by itself, which is an awful lot for just a PDF reader. (At least that is what I will use it for).

You might want to look at Doc To Go Premium, it comes with PDF To Go (Which is pretty much Repligo just renamed) and it gives you all the features of Doc To GO Premium, granted it is a bigger price jump.
