Default HELP ! I've bricked an 8320 updating

Please Login to Remove!

Hello all, I stupidly tried to update my friends Blackberry Curve 8320 (Orange UK) whilst drunk yesterday, long story short I knocked the cable out the BB half way through updating and now when switching it on I get the hourglass for just short of a minute, and I get a black and white screen with "Blackberry Platform 2.7.0.90" written at the top and
Address Book
Alarm
Calculator
Calendar
Compose
Global Search
Media
Music
Options
SavedMessages
SetupWizard
in a list
with "Uncaught exception: java.lang.NullPointerException" overlaid

If I click on any of the modules I get an error, "net_rm_bb_browser_rendering_lib" not found.

When I connect by USB the BB wont be found either.

So...please help me unbrick this Curve!

I'm guessing I just need to memory wipe it and install the OS from scratch, but I'd appreciate some pointers to getting started

Otherwise I think I may lose the friend, hehe.

Hmm ok so I went into the command prompt opened the app loader and i picked up the BB, wiped it and reinstalled the OS, the application loader shut down and the BB rebooted to egg timer, and it's been that way now for the last 10 minutes or so, is this to be expected? How long do I wait until I try something else?

Yes, it can take a while. WALK AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER. Go get a sandwich and non-alcoholic beverage. Then come back to the computer. ;)
