I got my new Curve 8320 from T-mobile in the mail today.....(I upgraded from the pearl) and I am totally frustrated. I can't get any of my aftermarket programs to work except for BB411. I am having trouble with BB weather and BB today, They worked fine on my pearl but I can't seem to get them working properly on my curve. It keeps saying Tunnel Failed. I tried entering my location USCA....and 4 numbers and then I read that some people used their zip codes. That didn't work for me either. I also disabled my MDS proxy and still no luck. Please help!!! (please dumb it up for me, I am still trying to catch on) Another thing that is bothering me is that I noticed that while viewing my address book......it's huge....it only shows 3 names when it's opened......on my old pearl I could view a ton of names at once because it was smaller. (does that make any sense?) Is there a way to change that? Also a way to change my text message ring tone? Thanks so much for all the help!

Try this..

1) Resend your service books (Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table>Menu key> Register Now.

2) Check the APN settings (Options>Advanced Options>TCP>Enter APN: "wap.voicestream.com" for T-Mobile

3) Do a battery pull (Take out the battery while the device is ON, wait for 30 secs and then put the battery back in)

I am not sure I understand when you say "while viewing my address book......it's huge....it only shows 3 names when it's opened".. how do you know your address book in huge? Do you mean that it had lot of entries in the Pearl device but it has just 3 entries in the curve.

I assume that you did all the steps necessary before switching the device. I mean followed the instructions in Desktop Manager which is required for switching between Blackberry devices. Open up your address book, hit Menu>Filter. See if any of the categories are checked. If yes, you may want to uncheck them.

For the address book. OS 4.2 and higher now has two lines per entry. I am sure your pearl was just one line. To get more goto Menu>options>Screen/Keyboard and change the font to a smaller one.

The problem with the address book it that when you open the address book you can only view about 3-4 names when open.....there is a lot of space between each name and number. My pearl and my Husbands Curve, when you open the address book about 10 names can be viewed and they are bunched tightly together with out the big old spaces between names. Not really a biggie.....just takes some getting.

I use Size 8 and see 6 Contacts @ a time...
