For some reason I can add or edit / delete any of my tasks. I did notice under options that the "number of entries is set to 10". I currently have less than 10 tasks. Also how do I increase that number of entries?

That number just tells you how many tasks you have, it's not a maximum.

then there is is more of a problem - because I only see 8. where are the other 2 tasks

In Tasks then options do you see Hide Completed or Show Completed or are you using a filter?
