Default Alltel BB data issues

Please Login to Remove!

Data on my Blackberry Curve has been a bit wiggy lately!

8330 OS 4.5.089 BIS

Several weeks ago my email, which has been delivering in less than a minute started delaying bad, I mean 15-20 minutes. I did the normal troubleshooting, cycled the radio, pulled the battery, resent service books, deleted and re added email accounts, opened trouble tix with email provider, wiped and restored OS, etc. So as much as Id appreciate those suggestions save the effort, been there done that! Messages would be delivered in bunches, i.e. one would make it through it was like the flood gates opened and all the messages were stuck in system delivered to my device, same for Blackberry messenger, if I typed a message that triggered a data update and that caused messages to come flooding in. Also my homepage and browser settings are being pushed to my device rendering them unchangeable and apparently I am not the only one seeing this occur

So I called Alltel and of course they have nothing in the system to indicate a network issue, so after rehashing all the steps I took with my device with CS, they determined it must be the device (for the record I stated I thought it was network related to them) and ordered an XBM, So fast-forward I am on my third device and guess what same issue, It was working great at first now today its dragging and sticking, plus browser takes insane amount of time to load images. At any rate, anyone have any insight as to whether my issue is network related or if there is something in my account settings that could be creating the issue as now I feel safe in saying that its not my device.

I'm seeing a similar issue with one of my users in Tallahassee. We have wiped and reactivated his Curve and it will work for a few days and then stop again. Problem is, the BES says that the messages are being delivered!

Let me know if you hear anything, it appears to definitely be a network problem with Alltel.

Did you get any resolution on this? I am having the same problem. I'm actually an Alltel Authorized Agent and they are trying to XBM my phone. Though I explained to them that I have tried 3 different BBs all with the same result.

There is definitely a network issue and it is incredibly frustrating.

Email via BIS is generally delayed about 15 minutes. Some comes quicker. Just depends on the RIM poll schedule. Could that be what you are seeing?

There is also a RIM/Verizon issue in PA for sure, could be part of your problem as well.

No definitely not the BIS delay. Actually use g-mail and that is pretty instant. This is on my girlfriend's phone on my account.

It is definitiely a data issue. It's strange - the phone shows 1XEV so there is a data conection. Also, outgoing data is not affected.

The best way i can describe it is like an incoming data clog. Almost like the incoming data connection goes latent. I can send my girlfriend a BB Message, a pin, an e-mail, a google talk message and nothing happens. She doesn't get any of them. Then all of a sudden, everything will flood through at once. This after a delay of 20 minutes to an hour.

Alternatively, if she "wakes up" the data connection by sending something out, everything flows into her phone at that time.

It's quite frustrating because we use BB Messenger to communicate constantly. Now it has become pretty useless.

I try to explain this to Alltel T.S. and they can't seem to understand what I am talking about. They just fall back to the standard XBM. Again, I've tried several devices on her account, they all have the same problems. Have tried re-registering, sending service books, os re-install. Everything I can think of.

is it possible that there is something in RIMs servers that is causing this issue? If so, why is it just my GF's phone? Shouldn't everything on the rim servers be governed by the PIN of the phone, and therefore if the device is switched, the issue should be resolved?

I am so stumped and frustrated on this. I have a BB that is not at all behaving the way a BB should.
