Ok, I am not going insane. I just picked up my phone and I had the option to send an MMS. I still can't receive them though. I have to go to the website to view.

When I get an MMS I still get the Picture Mail link, there is no view of the file until I go to the Picture Mail website and I am NOT able to send, I get a red X and says send failed.

It seems like after reading more that everyone is getting them same as before in a link to view on the Picture Mail website (CRAP IMO!!!) but others can send them just fine, I am not able to send at all.

I have resent service books, battery pull, reboot, everything I can think of and they just fail when I send them but I am getting them same as before.

A few of us on the BAW forums are looking and notice that under the MMS Transport service book there is no IP listed, this may be why some of us cannot send them.

What size are the pictures you're sending for the people that having it working? I wonder if, um, size matters?

It's not working for me and I have resent service books. Haven't done a batt pull....yet.

Under my camera options I have my pics set to 'Large' and 'Superfine'. One pic I tried to send was 623KB, the other was 735KB. Both failed with 'failed to send message'.

I have tried sending pics I had on the phone as well as some I took with the camera and they all failed, the ones I had on the phone were MMS I got from other people so I know it wasn't too big for me to get it.

The pic I sent was taken from my phone and was 114kb in size. The BB I send it to has a different OS version, and she got it with the old link, not as a straight pic.

Funny part is I tried to update to the .131 but it didn't load. I still have the .119. But I have the option to MMS. Having a BB since they came out, I am confused myself on what I did and didn't do right. And still somehow I have MMS. To me that is funny as hell, but annoying that I don't have the .131. Guess I will try tomorrow, because I am stopping for the night.

I just deleted the MMS Transport service book and resent them to the phone and it never showed back up.

I guess if it never worked to begin with then I am not missing anything right?

I don't think that we will be able to get true MMS, everything coming in looks like it still has to come through the Picture Mail servers, and until Sprint cuts their losses on this system and tells Verisign they aren't re-licensing it I don't think it will be any other way.

As far as I know, yes, those that have an IP in the Transport service book are able to send, those that don't are getting errors.

I was able to get the MMS Transport book back by going into the list and undeleting, but it never gave me an IP addy.

Yeah, I am almost half tempted to call Sprint CS and see what they say. There was no word from anyone on the BAW forums about this dropping today just some people seen it and word spread FAST.

CS probably doesn't even know how to handle an MMS related issue on BB.

Just got off the phone with Sprint BB technical support and was told they are having data service outages which is why people are not able to send MMS.

Also he said that RIM just updated/approved use of the Picture Mail service, which is why the update was taking so long.

IMO we will never see the end of Picture Mail now, Sprint held on long enough that RIM is supporting it now so no reason to dump it now, no matter how much we complain about it. He also told me that when you send someone an E-mail that the image goes through the Picture Mail servers as well, so Sprint is dead set on making us love Picture Mail.

How in the hell did you get through? I was on hold for about 28 minutes before I gave up. Which number did you call?

1-888-211-4727

I pressed 0 to speak with an operator....went into a hold queue told my wait time would be less than 3 minutes and about 20 seconds later a gentleman answered the phone as "Sprint Advanced Technical Support"

I told him I wished to speak with someone about Blackberry's and he said he was able to provide for Blackberry (usually you have to get transfer to Sprint BB support)

I said that with the MMS and 4.5 update out, I was not able to send and he then told me what the reasons were, and the conversation I mentioned above.

I literally hung up the phone then typed the above, so look at the time stamp it was when I hung up the phone.

Damn, I called the one that outsourced to EDS, the 8776549111 sat on hold for about 16 minutes then called Premier Care and the dude transferred me blackberry support. I would have called the normal internet support, but they never knew anything about blackberries

I have never had them answer as "Sprint Advanced Tech Support" that was a shock to me, even more of a shock when he told me could provide support for BB as well I have never had them provide BB support on the first shot, I usually have to get a transfer to BB support, and even then sometimes I have had them send me to Nextel BB support who in turn has to send me over to Sprint BB support.

He was fully aware of the 4.5 and MMS being out now, so I wonder why none of the mods on BAW put anything up about it finally hitting?

She ranted on me a few times, it's all good.

I still really expected them to post SOMETHING about this just to keep us off their backs. But when people realize that MMS still comes through Picture Mail and you don't get the image right to your phone the complaints will still roll in.

I also thought it was odd for them to drop this so late in the day, end of business day for us Eastern time zoners, I really thought this would hit first thing one morning, or have a PR from Sprint about us finally getting *their version of* MMS

I don't get it, my account must be flagged or something get the dumbest people over there. I got transferred and the lady just said, "Blackberry.com specifically states this update is not for Sprint phones"

I just called another BlackBerry support number I had and they said the same thing. Again, dumbest people ever.

I called what I though was the NOC, oops and it was Law Enforcement Support, that guy was the nicest dude I have ever talked to in my life at Sprint.

You got so lucky getting that person. I talked with at least 2 "Tier 2" people that had no idea there was an update.

I'm not doubting what that guy said to you, but this is now personal I was trying before you got to that guy! and I am going to find someone that knows something tonight

This last Tier2 person said SMS wasn't supported and it will 2 months until it would be. When I pointed out that I was enquiring about MMS, she said that wasn't supported either.

As a helpdesk employee, I would shoot myself if I had no idea what the hell I was supporting like these people.

Who wants to bet that I get a letter stating that I called CS too many times and they have to cancel my account?

I guess it still rings true then that Sprint CS really is horrible?

I have had nothing but A+ experiences with the CS team with ANY issue I call in about the last year+.

FUN FUN FUN.

Gotta love conflicting information.

Just hung up the phone again with Sprint BB technical support and was told this time a NEW reason for not being able to MMS.

This gentleman told me that the reason some can send and some cannot......it is not updated in Sprint's network and will be fully available to everyone with 4.5 tomorrow. Basically they are saying that RIM "leaked" this version and it wasn't supposed to be out until tomorrow.

He also said that when we get an MMS now, it will be a straight MMS and nothing at all to do with Picture Mail as far as getting or sending. Which is in direct contrast to what we have been told all along, but is this a shock to anyone?

Take that however you wish, I am thinking no one knows what is going on.

Sprint connected me to RIM support and they are investigating the issue and I have a callback set for tomorrow @ 9am eastern. Will attempt some more stuff at that time.

are you not able to send MMS?

I am on the phone right now as I am typing this with Sprint support and he went back to their "test unit" tried to send an MMS and got the red X
LMAO!!! Hr also said they tried to send an MMS to the unit and got nothing at all, no MMS, no Picture Mail link, NOTHING!!

We are going through some stuff now, he is making a call to someone in Dallas Ft. Worth to check on something else. Will keep posted on what is going on.

Still on the phone, we have tried everything possible.

He has engineers looking at their test phone and nothing works the way it should.

Who knows, he is at a loss.
