Default Where is the "Media Center" on my Blackberry Desktop Manager?

Please Login to Remove!

I can't find the place where I can manage music and put something on my media card.

Did you install a Desktop Manager package which included Media Manager? RIM makes two bundles for each version.

If that is all you want to do - just hook up your phone and then open it up like an thumb drive or flash drive and then drag and drop, or use the "copy file to" feature.

I have the media Manager installed and have never used it. No real need to.

I need a little bit more detail. What do I "open up?" I don't know where I am dragging from or where I am dropping. Tx.

1st - on your computer double click on the "My Computer" icon. When it opens up you should see two or three active drives probably C - D(recovery drive) and E (DVD-CD drive). Now close it out.

Now Plug your phone in via USB.

Once the computer recognizes it and if your Media Card is installed and working it will show up as a new drive (the auto-play feature may bring pop up...just close that out). Now open up "My Computer" again and yo should see the a new drive. That is your Media Card.

Double click on that new drive and a folder should show up....mine is Blackberry.

Double click on that folder and you should see several folders including ringtones, music, pictures, voice notes, etc...

Now go the folder you want to transfer items from. You can either single click on the item(s) you want to move and drag it over to the folder you want to put it in.

OR single click on the item you want to move - then click on EDIT in the toolbar and scroll down to and click on "Copy To Folder". A menu box will open up and you can just navigate to the drive and folder you want to copy it to.

Another option is to simply put your card into one of your media card slots if you have the reader.

It is really much simpler than all of that sounds

Ok so I go into "my computer" and plugged in Blackberry. Device "F" - Removable Disk is what shows up.

I double clicked on the icon and it says, "please insert a disk into Removable Disk "F."

Disconnect your phone.

Go to the "options" icon on your BB.

Open up and scroll to "Media Card" and open that.

Make sure you have:

Media Card -ON
Encryption Mode - NONE
Mass Storage Mode Support - ON
Auto Enable Mass Storage Mode When Connected - YES

Reconnect your BB and try again.

I've received this occasionally, and a battery pull resolved the issue.

Default What if the Media Manager is disabled on Desktop Manager?

Is there a way to re-enable it? I don't even know how I would have done anything to it. I seem to remember installing it when I first got my Storm, but now I'm not sure.

I can sync music and such, but when I show the Memory Card on Windows Explorer, it only shows the existing folders for music - not pictures, though I have several folders full of them on the card.

And there is no "Memory Card" under options on the Storm. Between all of these factors, none of the good information that's been provided on this thread is usable to me at all.

You could start your own thread instead of jacking this one.

Sweet.

Ok so I "enabled mass media" and it opened a whole new world for me in terms of saving my pictures/videos. But I still don't see a spot on the desktop that has anything to do with music

And now, since I "enabled mass media storage" all of the music, pictures and video are gone from my phone - but are now on my computer. How do I transfer back?

I've read in one of the threads on this forum relating to the missing media manager issue, is that RIM offers two different versions of the desktop manager, one with and one without the media manager. You might try finding a different version and downloading it to see what happens. Also I've found running Vista 64 on one of my systems sometimes things act a bit differently than I would expect. I've since begun using strictly my Win XP laptop to interact with my 8330 and I have zero issues this way.
