| BB Curve 8320 restarts during calls, help! Please Login to Remove! My BB Curve 8320 keeps (done it 3 times in less than a month) restarting while on a call. I lose the call and get a white screen with the hour-glass. Very similar, if not exactly like a battery pull, any ideas on what it could be??
4.2 OS
Additional apps are JiveTalk (trial version still)

Try upgrading to 4.5 OS. I am assuming your battery is NOT slipping when you angle the device to use phone.

I was talking on the phone while it was charging this time... does that have anything to do with it?
Any help would be appreciated, this is very annoying! | | Offline

| I understand you have grave reservations, but how about that upgrade to 4.5? It really couldn't hurt. | | Offline

| I guess I could try... it did the same thing to me 3 times in the last 2 days. I can always upgrade and see how I like it and then go back to the old (4.2) correct?
I have heard this is a REAL big problem with the BB 8320 on TMo, any else having this problem, yet... | | Offline

I have the same phone as you on the same network with 4.5 loaded. It really doesn't give me any problems. | | Offline

| If you are on the original Tmobile OS, this was a pretty common problem while on UMA. Even if it's not a UMA problem, upgrading is one of the first things to try. There was a 4.2 OS version that was way better than the Tmobile one, but you might as well go to 4.5. | | Offline

| I've had several builds of 4.5 on my 8320, with no issues. As long as you follow the steps carefully, you should be fine: How do I upgrade the OS on my BlackBerry? - BlackBerryFAQ

| OP, to answer your question, I have not had the issue with either 4.2 or 4.5. There are a few additions in 4.5 that you do not get with 4.2, plus a host of fixes. The lastest OS 4.5.0.124 has been very stable. | | Offline

| I have heard of this problem from all over the internet just google "curve 8320 call restart" and get forum after forum of people having to return their curves until finally finding one that stops the problem.
Sounds like I might just have to risk the upgrade, but before I do I can just back up my old version and switch back if needed correct?
Someone mentioned there is a different version of 4.2 than the TMo version, where can I get my hands on that? | | Offline

| Hi, You can back up before upgrading, I had the same problem with 4.5 on the Blackberry and my only solution was to get a replacement Blackberry 8320, I have not had the problem since I got the replacement and the replacement unit I received had 4.5 on it so no need to upgrade it.

Try pulling the sd card out and doing the things that cause problems to see. | | Offline

They arranged for a replacement Curve to be sent.
The Curve I received already had the latest version of 4.5 on it.
Thanks!!
