Bit of a weird one
but please bear with me.

Basicaly, i got an 8320 just before christmas, but during february the ball stopped working, so Orange have replaced it free of charge.

However, all they replaced was the handset, and when i turned it on, everything is different. They didn't give me a manual with it, it didn't come in a box, and i was under the assumption that i would get exactly the same phone as before.

This model seems more advanced than the one i had, it doesnt have as many icons, the icons are totally different to the ones on my old phone, i seem to be able to download applicatons that i couldn't on my previous phone, so i'm wondering if i have been given an upgraded version.

I know it's very vague, but does anyone have any idea which version i could have? I have no idea how to use it, it's so much different, also, i cant get on the internet via GPS, only via Wi-Fi, which is doing my head in, does anyone have an answer on how i can fix that?

You may have received a device with a higher OS. Possibly the first device you had was running 4.2 and this one's running 4.5.

Furthermore, the 8320 is a WiFi device, it does not have GPS. The 8310 has GPS but not WiFi. There is no way to "fix" that.

Hmm, on my old version i could get online wherever i was, i didnt have to be near a router to go online.

Sorry ignore me, having a blonde moment, i meant WAP, not GPS :oops:

Just seen a topic on it, so i'll have a hunt through that :)

Do you have a BlackBerry Data plan?

Are you missing your browser icon? If the answer to both of those questions is yes, then go to Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Menu Key > Register Now.

I have the icon, i think i have ythe same problem as the guy in the other topic, and i need an update from Orange. The only Browser option i have is 'Hotspot Browser'. I'll give Orange a call.
