Default Disabling sound when dialing a number?

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to do this or is the only way to have the BB in vibrate or quiet ring mode?

Edit: I just realized putting the phone in vibrate or quiet mode doesn't disable the sound either!

Thanks!

In normal profiles, it makes noise when dialing. One of those weird BB quirks.

Thanks for the tip...however, that has already been set to "off" and it didn't change anything.
Same thing happens on my girlfriends Curve.

I am presuming that you are talking about the DTMF tones the phone generates when it dials. There is not currently a way to disable this. You can turn the keys to silent but when it dials it will generate the tones.

When I dile numbers I do not hear them outloud and I do not have the phone up to my ear when I dial so I don't know if it has sound through the earpiece. I turned keytone off and saved the setting to work for me. If you did save the keytone it might have to do with the theme. My profile is loud also and still hear nothing.

I'm talking about turning the keys to silent. I don't mind if it still sounds the "quick" speed dial type sounds when it dials the number.
How do I disable the key sounds when I press the keys? Sounds like some of your have been able to do this.

Thanks!

Not sure what OS I'm running! How do I check or find out! The Curve is about a year old.
I do have a downloaded "Aero" (like Windows) on my BB.
My girlfriend has a Curve w/o and changes on it and she is having issues getting rid of the key sounds too.

It's not theme based, I have it too. I had it also on my Pearl, it looks like this can't be turned off (there is no option to disable it, only when you choose a silent profile it's gone).

I'm using os 4.5 on a 8310 I have no keytones so it can be done. I just changed the keytone to off and saved the setting. That's what did it for me cause I turned it back on and had tones while dialing again. Turned it back off and none. Are you saving the settings?

Keytones and dialing tones are two different things.

Well when I turn off the keytones I don't hear anything . It doesn't matter if I'm dialing to typing. When I turn on keytones I hear a tone when I dial. Whith key tones on I hear a tone whenever I hit a key. So turning off key tone worked for me

Problem: After a number input, press Send and BB makes dialing sound. This sound doesn't turn off regardless of profile and other settings.

Analysis: This noise wasn't present when the official firmware was used. The first time i upgraded to v4.5 i realized that the dialing sound was present.

Solution: Yet to be found. Any bright ideas?

Are you saying that if you use the "Quiet" Profile, you still hear the sounds?

Just for clarification:

When you press the tones it does not make a sound and then when you press send it makes the DTMF noise

OR

When you press the numbers BEFORE hitting send you are hearing the key tones (which sound like DTMF tones)

Thanks,
