Default sending pictures by MMS

I can't seem to get pics to actually send. All I get is a red X beside it in the messages folder.

Any suggestions?

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

Have you tried pulling the battery from the device (while it is still powered on)? This is called a hard reset.

Open up one of the messages with a red X. At the top will be an error message. Let us helpful people know it says.

The only thing it says is "Failed to send message".

Thanks, that is helpful.

Two key components with that:

Do you have a Blackberry data plan? If not, well, we found the problem.
How big is the file you are trying to send? Anything over 600K won't fly.
What BB OS do you have? Settings>Options>About.

I have a blackberry data plan. And the size was the first thing I had checked. The first pic was way to big but when I scaled it down it was still a no-go.

I'm not sure if I found the right info about the OS...is this what you need?

Try deleting and resending the service books associated with MMS: on your BB, Settings>Options>Advanced Options>Service Books. Not sure how they are listed with Bell, but w/ AT&T it is MMS Transport and MMS Client.

With both deleted, pull battery and re-insert.
Once back on, go into Settings>Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table>highlight an entry w/ Bell in the name>menu>Register Now.
This will resend those MMS service books to the phone.

If still not working, you may need to contact Bell to make sure your MMS services are set up correctly on their network.

There is also sometimes issues with files between 300K and 600K depending on the phone. Most newer phones can handle the larger file, but regardless, this looks like its failing before ever going out.

Alrightie, I did all that and it's still giving me the same error message, and this time I made sure it was *well* under even 100K.

Thanx a ton for the help.

I guess an important question I overlooked here. You said you had the BB data plan, but is data working on the phone? Email, internet, all working ok?

If Bell says your MMS services are setup ok, there are a few more steps.

Open Desktop Manager>Backup and Restore>highlight Service Books on the right>Clear. Pull battery/reinsert.
Do another "Register Now" from the Host Routing Table, and if email is setup you will need to resend the service books from the BIS site.

If still not working, I would say you need to master reset the phone. Backup your information with Desktop Manager first of course. Settings>Options>Security Options>General Settings>menu key>Wipe Handheld.

Good luck!

I too often have this problem and am unable to send MMS messages. I can do everything else including send sms and use the internet but for some reason, it's like i lose connection with the server and get that "x" when i try to send. You need to do a hard reset by pressing the alt-right shift-delete keys at the same time and then try to send an mms. It works for me and i'm able to send for awhile until whatever happens happens again. So actually try to do a hard reset, don't just say you tried it....if that's what u did.

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry Curve 8900)

Also, check the Broswer Push settings in Options > Advanced Options > Browser Push. Make sure that Enable Push and Enable WAP push are at least selected.

Have you called Bell Customer Support and asked them to reset your device on their network? Be sure you call from a phone different from the one on which are having a problem.

Good to hear the MMS got fixed!

Sending email problem is easy and not a problem to correct. On your BB, go in to Personal Email Setup>Login if needed>Service Books. Then resend them to the phone. When the phone gets wiped those service books go bye bye and need to be resent.
