I have a Curve 8300. I lost my power cord for it and started using the cord I had for my old 7100g. Shortly thereafter, whether related or unrelated, I started having serious battery problems (it would die very quickly) and need to be recharged constantly.

It was the original battery that I had for almost 2 years and may have needed to be replaced anyway. But I was just curious if anyone knew of problems after using other power cords or car chargers meant for other BB models.

I've never had any issues. I've used the same charger for a 7100, 7520, 7250, 8830, 8330, all without issues. Could just be an odd coincidence.

sorry this is not really an answer to your problem, but i have a curve 8310 which is not yet 3 months old and only this week the battery runs down very quickly, even with little use and after a full charge. i switch off at night and have not been using the phone/internet much at all. is this a common problem with BB batteries? will i need to buy a new battery? cheers, me dears, tabat

2 years is about right for the battery to die. Probably just coincidence.

I use all kinds of USB cords to charge. From my camera, my old Motorola, my GPS, my Playstation controller. I think they are all the same specification.

A defective cord could of course cause problems, but that's independent of what it originally came with.
