RZR=>HTC Mogul=>HTC Touch Pro=>Blackberry 8330

Just got the 8330 yesterday. After I did the OS update, I was in business with MMS. I still have a few issues that I hope can be solved here because none of the 3 "corporate" Sprint stores where I am have any 8330 in stock nor do they know when they're getting them. I am thinking about taking the BB back just because after the OS upgrade (and MMS not working) I had to have a tech wipe out my phone because the "hard reset" of taking the battery out didn't do anything, then another wipeout and the BBM still doesn't add ppl properly.

1. My BBM skips a step and doesn't allow me access my contact list in order to add a new contact. I can send a request via somebody's email or if they send me their PIN in SMS and I copy and paste. If I send an email(I can only send an email if it's already an entry for a contact), nobody gets the request.

2. I think I read that apps for WinMo phones are .cab files and something different for BB? Would this be why I can't beam apps, games, etc?

3. I took the miniSD out of my TP and put it in my BB because that's where all of my apps/ringtones/games/docs are located, but I can't seem to seem to access any of them from the card. From the Mogul, I was able to beam the ringtones, but that's it.

I have 2 phone lines active, the BB and Mogul currently and both have unlimited data. I am able to sync them both. I have also backed up my BB as I'm preparing for the worst. I appreciate and help and/or suggestions you have.

Have the company replace the Blackberry on the return with the original time frame if you got it new.

lol...Sorry, I forgot to mention that all Sprint stores are out of 8330 where I am (there are 4 stores!!!) and nobody seem to know when they're getting any in. One store has been out for 2 weeks. This is worse than when the TP came out. I still got one AND when it acted crazy, was able to get a replacement in 3 days. But am I supposed to be able to beam docs/apps/games or are they different file types? I have no idea what BB are capable of because this is my first one. I know what works on one WM phone mostly works on another. Just have no idea about WM to BB.

I jumped from a winmo to a BB with files like MP3 I backed them up to pc then format card with fat32 then load to BB or you can format it with the BB once you emptied card and with address book and calendar I used google sync hardest bit is to set winmo up as BB has a client for it also found bbm will work after you send service books through just get them to wipe and fresh load and send books

You can't send service books for one particular app/function.

Sexygirl, I've given up on the phone Sprint techs. No two of them agree on anything. Find a Sprint store near you that has good employees, and either drive there or call them on the phone. I've found a store about 11 miles from me (there's an authorized reseller 2 miles away, but it's staffed by idiots so I don't go there) that has talked me through all sorts of issues competently and quickly.

Rebecca,
Thanks much! I have an appt tomorrow @ the Sprint store w/techs. The wait is outrageous, but I usually get good service there. I was just getting off the phone w/CS as you were posting. They are sending me a new one. I'm still gonna go to the store in hopes they can fix this one (too impatient to wait 2-3 business days). You are right though..the tech I just talked to said her BBM does the same thing. I told her that I sent an email and the contact is still pending though so to me that indicates there's a problem. Well, I just hope that by Wednesday the absolute latest all my BBM probs will be solved.

WOOOHOOO!!! Got new phone and the BBM works. It's 8330m, only difference I can see is it comes w/OS 4.5 on it. I still can't invite to BBM and have my contact list come up, but at least BBM works! I thank you all for your help.

But not so fast...so I decided I would let the battery power down on it's own instead of charging it...I tried to sync it via USB and [b]NADA[b]
After spending the last 3 hours on the phone with Sprint and Blackberry techs, they've decided it must be the phone. This was a brand new phone from the box! It worked earlier because I loaded all my stuff onto it using the switch option myself (the Sprint store I went to didn't have techs). I had to wipe it completely clean back to factory settings just to get it sync via bluetooth. The BDM has been deleted and re-loaded. My USBs have been uninstalled and reinstalled. I anticipated a snafu of some sort, and have another brand new phone to pick up in the morning. Suggestions on why the USB port doesn't work anymore are welcome! All my USBs still work on everything else (winmo phone, ipod, etc) except the BB, and I have tried using another cord, and still nothing.

Default usb failure???

I am now on my 4th phone!! Has anybody ever heard of USB failure? All of my USB ports work just fine with anything except the BB. After a day or two of the good life, it just doesn't recognize it anymore. For some reason, I also keep getting a message about "Locating the Driver for the Bluetooth Peripheral Device" also.
I have tried installing the USB Driver software from BB, I have removed Desktop Manager 4.3 completely, and have installed 4.7. I am out of ideas by now. The techs at BB are at a loss with this also. Does anybody have any suggestions before I return the BB for good?

Any chance that your USB is somehow shorting the BB port?

Never thought of that..How would that be possible? I am using the USB cord the BB came with. Please help! Do I need to buy another cord you think? This is getting crazy.

Try another cord, and try another PC.

Thanks,
