Default Blackberry Maps??

Please Login to Remove!

Downloaded the new OS today for the 8310 which included BB maps. I can see BB maps in the app list but do not see it on my homepage. Any suggestions as to where it could be?

BBMaps does not function on At&t with OS 4.5 because it requires a service book that at&t refuses to push down to their devices.

NP. There is a workaround, but it requires you to load an older version of BBMaps onto your device. Check the Beta You Than Me section of the forums. There is a sticky that explains how to get BBMaps working on At&t 4.5

EDIT: here is a direct link to the procedure: Get Blackberry Maps and Google Maps working on Beta OS 4.5

I don't recommend bothering with it. There are plenty of other much better GPS app options out there. Visit the GPS subforum.

+1.

I find Google Maps + Latitude a thousand times more useful, personally.

i'm stuck on BB maps, but that's mainly because it's the only maps application that can utilize GPS (damn you, verizon!). but agreed, if i had the freedom to choose between 3rd party apps, google maps would be my weapon of choice

Here's an observation........ Cooperstown NY (Baseball hall of fame and a 12mile long lake) Does not show up......

I live here and when I went to the BB maps thing crappy little bergs near me showed but the village of Cooperstown is not there nor is the very large lake.

WTF!?

I am using google and works great for me.

i've used both the BBMaps and whatever the Maps is on my BBCurve and can't stand them. ever since i d/l google maps, it's the best app for it, i guess unless you pay for Garmin on it. i have a garmin in my car and for being a BB, it's pretty close to it. i used it to walk around downtown charlotte and it move every step of the way with me!

google maps all the way!
