Default Notes and privacy

Please Login to Remove!

I was using a palm/clie before my Curve and loved being able to make specific notes private. Now I synch with Outlook so I don't have that option. Is there an application I can buy that will offer me that option? It makes me feel more comfortable with my private information. I know I can password protect the Curve itself, but that's tedious.

Thanks.

There was just an application password product mentioned on BBNews:

I know you find it tedious, but I think it's a good idea to password protect your device. If by chance you would ever lose or misplace it, you'll feel a little better knowing that no one can see your personal information. Just my opinion.

It just seems odd that Palm has this pretty simple feature and Blackberry does not.

BlackBerry has a lot more security than Palm could ever dream about.

I don't understand what you mean. Blackberry is all or nothing. Either i password protect my device or I have no protections. Palm had that option, too. But it also allowed me to protect individuals entries in the applications. I looked at the application above but it is hard to see how it works without dropping $20.00.

For the notes that you're taking, are they very long? Maybe you could get by with something like the password keeper or Cryptmagic (which lets you sync with a PC). There is a free demo of that one, too.

There are various pros and cons on both side of any fence (Palm vs BB, WinMo vs Palm, BB vs WinMo, etc etc etc) you care to take a look at. It's not odd at all.

I'd also highly recommend using a device password to keep all your data safe but you can opt to forgo it or use a 3rd party app like the one mentioned above.
