Hi there,

Im a new member here and new to the whole BB thing. I have recently received my Blackberry 8320 curve and Im not sure on a few things so Ive got a few questions that I would like to ask to give me some help. Apologies if some answers are obvious but Im not great with technology etc.

1. How do I get GPS and Maps to come on?

When I click on the 'Maps' section all that comes up is 'Defalt service' and then 'None'. There is nothing I can do on that.

2. What do I have to do to get this GPS Data source thing so GPS can work on the phone?

3. What is enterprise activation and what do I have to do?

4. How do I set up email on my BB?

5. When someone tries to send something to me on bluetooth (which I do understand) the other person who is sending me stuff sends it, but then it says sending failed, even though my bluetooth is on and flashes when something is being done.?

I know some of them may seem straight forward but I am really struggling at the moment so help wioth any of the above will be greatly appreciated.

1. There is no GPS on the 8320. You will need a GPS puck via Bluetooth if you want GPS.

Your carrier (Tmobile, Verizon, etc.) provides your data plan. BES (Blackberry Enterprise Server) is your corporate email, calendar, etc. If you're using your Blackberry standalone (i.e., not through a corporate network) the same carrier who provides your data plan will provide email through BIS which (at least for me) allows me to use 10 email addresses on the blackberry. As a newbie I STRONGLY suggest you work through the FAQs on this site. They are excellent and will provide more than enough support for the questions you ask.

What do I need a Data Plan for? - BlackBerryFAQ

You need to contact your carrier in order to get a BlackBerry Data Plan. If you read the FAQ post that I linked above, you will see what you need a Data Plan for.

Well I have to say im very annoyed at Orange. I have been trying to set up this Blackberry Internet account and i keeps saying I can't as its with a different carrier. Therefore Im taking it in as Im not getting anything out of it.

I went on Host router table and Register Now, and nothing happened!

Nothing will happen if you don't have a BlackBerry Data Plan. What carrier do you currently have service with?

Is the device an Orange device? If not, is it unlocked?

And I'm not sure about Orange, but with most carriers, you can't add BlackBerry Plan on the website. You would need to call Customer Service or (as you have indicated) visit a store location.
