Just ordered BB Curve 8330. I have Verizon- unlimited data plan. I plan on putting in a 8GB micro card in it. My questions are...

1. Can I use google maps as a GPS if I don't pay for the VZ Navigator? Any other GPS apps out there that are better?

2. Will that 8GB card be enough to download and use Opera Mini, Ringtones, Pandora, My typepad app, twitterberry, facebook, Viigo, Flickr, and my iTunes library(which accounts for only about 100 songs)?

3. Anyone reco an app to sync my bb to my macbook?

4. If I download Opera Mini does that have anything to do with a bb theme? Can you have both?

Any other reco's on apps for a blogger and bb newbie?

I can only answer two questions.

Any apps you download get installed to the phone's memory, not the media card.

I believe there are programs for the Mac that allow you to hook up your Berry, but only for the transfer of media files.

Ok. Well- will all those apps *fit* in the phones memory and still let the phone run, well, quickly and glitch free?

To sync with your MAC, check out our Mac section. PocketMac and MissingSync are the two apps that I know of that support the MAC environment. Use the SEARCH function please.

Make sure you read your user guide and our FAQ. Use Search as well.

As for the 8GB SD card, it depends upon the OS installed on your device. From our FAQ: What type and size Media Card can I use in my device? - BlackBerryFAQ

As for apps, please checkout the Aftermarket section - and use the SEARCH function.

1. No. On the Verizon 8330, the internal GPS only works with BBMaps and VZNav.

2. Yes and No. As indicated above, apps must be installed to the device memory. Luckily, the 8330 has more than the others in the 83xx series. You can monitor your free memory by going to Options > Status and reading the third line.

You can, however, put your music on the card. And 8GB card should be plenty. Be aware that your BlackBerry will not play songs with DRMs. It will only play songs that are unprotected.

3. About your only option is PocketMac.

4. Opera Mini is an alternate internet browser. It doesn't have anything to do with themes. You can have the BlackBerry Browser and Opera Mini on the device at the same time.

Yes, you can. BBMaps is included with your data plan. It won't give you turn-by-turn directions but it will show your position.

Not true. There is also MissingSync. Neither are very good however.
