Exclamation 8350i standby mode?

Please Login to Remove!

I can't get my 8350i to stay in standby mode? I push the mute button like the manuel says but then, maybe four minutes later (yes, I've timed it) it comes out of standby mode on its own. The manuel says to push mute again to take out of standby but it does it on its own.

I want the screen to stay dark when I'm not using it. I have already set it to auto dim and for the backlight to go off after 10 seconds. It does that but then, it lights back up soon after for no reason. I think it's draining my battery by being lit all the time. Is it broken?

It only takes 3-4 seconds on my device holding down the mute key to enter standby mode. Make certain you aren't also hittin the alt or cap key prior to pressing the mute key.

I might have been holding it too long and it was kicking it back off or something. IDK. Anyway, I updated my software last night and now it works. The screen stayed off all night and this morning. I think that fixed it. Took just over an hr to update.
