Hello. My phone will randomly send text messages on its own. When I'm on BBM and chatting it will sometimes try to send a file out to the person I'm chatting with. When idle, meaning it's just sitting there, it likes to open the application the cursor is on and do random activities. What can this be? I re-cased the housing cause when I bought it used it was doing the same thing. I thought the buttons were sticking so I replaced the keyboard and pad. I'm out of ideas

im kinda of confused by this , you are saying your phone just sends text messages and IM by itself without you ever touching it ?

Have you pulled the battery?

You lock the keyboard when it's in your pocket and so forth?

yes, pulled the battery. it does not do it when locked keyboard. it does it when no buttons are pressed. I'm holding it in my hands staring at it and i witness it just do all those things i mentioned above.

How old is the phone, does it seem to be damaged physically or any water damage?

I would wipe it and return it, for a new BlackBerry of course.

unfortunately the original phone i purchased that is under warranty was stolen and i bought this used unit on Craigslist. I wonder if ATT would still take it back even thought the serials don't match?

Maybe.. AT&T insurance doesn't cover lost phones?

You can give it a shot but they may ask you for it.
