I used to have the 7290. I only synched wirelessly. Somehow, I had it set up that if I read my mail in Outlook on my computer, it would pull it off of my blackberry. At the end of the day, my blackberry only had new unread mail and sent mail (I couldnt figure out how to get rid of those).

So now, I have the 8310. I want to be set up the same way. Now there is a different desktop manager software v4.6 and I have no idea how to set this up again.

Any thoughts?

It's very difficult to help with the details provided.

"Only synched wirelessly" implies BES. If the 8310 is replacing the 7290 on a BES then you just need to activate the 8310. If it's not a replacement then you'll have to set up everything again. If you're not on a BES then wireless sync isn't going to be possible.

I guess answers to the following would help:

- Are you on BES? BIS? Both?
- What type of mail server/account (Outlook doesn't help as it supports a number of different types of mail servers)?

I wireless sync right now without a problem.

What I want to be able to do is set (either on my handheld or on the blackberry desktop software) so that if I read it on Outlook Exchange Server it gets yanked off my blackberry - leaving me at the end of the office day with only emails that i havent read.

Did you have to consult your IT dept. to set your 7290 up originally?

Yes, but it was a few years later that I changed something (dont remember what) and I got it to work this way.

Im just looking for someone to tell me how to either set my blackberry or my desktop manager with either a setting or a filter that tells it to dump emails on my handheld if they were read on the computer already.

I have that model. I use this software to sync my Contacts, Calendar, Todo etc. wirelessly and it's way easier to configure and use because it doesn't require exhange or BB server.
