Default Can't dial phone from email or contacts text

Please Login to Remove!

When I first purchased my BB, phone numbers imbedded in text such as an email or address book "notes" section would highlight red when scrolled across. The phone number could be dialed by simply pressing the trackball. This feature now only works if a 1 is in front of the number IE: 1-800-555-5555. Verizon could not help so offered to replace the phone. Once my data/settings were transfered to the new phone, the feature was lost. I have hard reset the phone; the feature worked until I syncronized with BB desktop. Is there a setting to turn this feature on/off?

This sounds exactly like my issue from yesterday. I began having the issue after updating to v4.5.0.110

Still hoping for a solution. I have played with every wetting I could think of.

Default Solved

I have a solution for you. Go to your phone icon and select it or just press the green call button. From the full menu, select options and then Smart Dialing. For the country code, select +1

I was depressed for two days with this problem. I could never remember the persons name and number when I exited the message to dial the number.
