Default Call forwarding / ringtone question

Please Login to Remove!

I have the business line at my house forwarding to my blackberry as im never home. Is there a way to set the 8320 so that any calls coming in from the forwarded number will have a specific ringtone? I know i could go thru my phonebook and set all my contacts to a specific ringtone as they dont come through the forward, but i have like 250 or more so its not an option.

I know the phone can differenciate because it pops up a msg to let me know the incoming call is from the forwarded number. Just wondering if i missed the option?

Does the caller ID show your forwarded number or the number of the person who called? If the first, maybe you could just program your own number in and have it set to a particular ringtone.

As was said above, just create a contact called "forwaded numbers" or whatever, give it the business line number for a phone number, and set a ringtone for it.

The problem is that you don't know who is calling, all that you know is that the call has been forwaded from your business landline.

That is one of the reasons I gave in and ported my business line to my cell. that and the fact that my business landline cost $120/mo and unlimited cell calls only cost $99.

I will lose the yellow page listing but I think it has been more than 5 years since anyone actually called me by using the yellow pages. Instead I'll list in the online yellow pages.

I'm a bail bondsman so I don't care who's calling I answer anyway. 9/10 its a call from the jail because someones locked up.

And the phone displays the callers phone number, not the business number. Call forwarding simply passes a caller from one phone to another along with the caller data. If you don't see the call forwarding popup or have a set ringtone you would never know the call was from a forward.
