I need a little help with a couple of questions.....

I use ebuddy for instant messaging, it was working fine until I updated to the latest OS (not really sure if the problem is connected to my update) anyway, now when I try to start ebuddy It won't start, I get a message that says

"your internet settings must be activated for java applications"

looking in the ebuddy site, they have DNS numbers for specific carriers, mine happens to be T-mobile.

So how do I set my BB to activate for java applications and where would I find the DNS thingy in my phone?

next question,

my girlfriend has the same BB I do, so why if she records video with her BB and sends it to me by email, when i try to open the attachment , why do I get a message that says my device can't play the format of the video?

is it possible to record video, send and play to another BB

It is not uncommon for applications to work under one version of an operating system and then "break" (stop functioning correctly) under a newer version. That sounds like what you may be experiencing, and it is the reason that I sometimes hold back rather than living at the bleeding edge.

As to the other issue, I would think that video recorded on the same model of phone should play on another phone of the same type, unless the transport mechanism is altering it in some way. Try getting it from her phone to yours in a different fashion (say, through a PC sync) to test this out. If you then can play it, it may be a problem with the transport and not the phone itself.

check and see if ebuddy has a newer version for you to install

in your device goto option... advanced options... applications
here you can uninstall the old version and install the new version... even if their isnt a new version, reinstall the same one. Aslo in this same section, see if you have Blackberry Attachment service... if you dont have this, it may be why you cannot open the video files.

Make sure the APN settings are correct; they likely got wiped out during the update.

Go into Options / Advanced / TCP - set as follows:

APN: wap.voicestream.com
Username: (blank)
Password: (blank)
